EducationUniversity of North Texas - Bachelors, English , SUNY at Albany - PHD, Social Psychology
ExperienceI earned my doctorate in social and personality psychology at the University of Albany. I also have a master of social work degree in social welfare that I earned at the University of Buffalo and a masters degree in English literature I earned at UNC - Chapel Hill. I spent over a decade researching mental health, social sciences, teaching, and general health, and I've published many journal articles. I'm currently teaching at the University of Pennsylvania as an adjunct professor. I'm also licensed as a master social worker in New York. I've done a lot of teaching and supervising over the years as well, including working as an academic advisor, where I worked with students who were on academic probation, often identifying undisclosed or undiscovered learning disabilities. I also assisted the students in developing study skills and overcoming problems with procrastination. I love helping students work through learning obstacles in any way that I can, but I also like to help students improve their research and writing skills and understand statistics and social sciences. Due to my background in social work, I am particularly adept at helping students reduce test anxiety and bad study habits, which often helps students increase their academic performance. When I have spare time, I like to read, volunteer, play the harp, and spend time with my family.
HobbiesReading, volunteering, animal rescue, and playing the Celtic harp.
